After losing three games in a row, the Dallas Mavericks registered their first win in the 2024 NBA Finals against the  Boston Celtics  at the American Airlines Center on Friday night. Ahead of Game 4, Mavericks coach Jason Kidd fueled motivation in Luka Doncic and his teammates by showing his confidence and belief in the team.

Mavericks star Luka Doncic registered 25 first-half points against the Celtics in Game 4 as Dallas defeated Boston 122-84 to force Game 5. The two teams will face each other in Game 5 at the TD Garden on Monday night.

Ahead of Game 5, the 2011 NBA champions with the Mavericks and current coach, Jason Kidd, motivated his players with his confident words. He said in the locker room, "We go to Boston tomorrow. I hope you guys all packed."

Apart from his motivational speech, Kidd praised the 25-year-old Slovenian in a post-match interview. Doncic was subjected to criticism after his Game 3 antics where he was fouled out and Dallas trailed to a 3-0 lead. However, after his sensational performance in Game 5, Kidd said, "He was Luka (Doncic). He is one of the best players in the world. He’s a hell of a player."

With their handsome win against the Celtics by 38 points in Game 4, the Dallas Mavericks lead the Eastern Conference champions 408-402 in the 2024 NBA Finals overall points scored. Luka ended up with 29 points, 5 rebounds and assists each, and three steals followed by Kyrie Irving, who registered 21 points and 6 assists.
