Fans on social media were not too happy after a well-known sports media outlet released their list of ‘Top five duos in the NBA’. The list saw the Phoenix Suns’ duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, followed by the Bucks’ duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday taking the second spot. The NBA-winning duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray was surprisingly ranked at no.3. The No.4 and No.5 spots were taken by LeBron-Davis and Doncic-Irving respectively.

Plenty of fans were outraged on social media because Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were not given the top spot despite winning the finals and one of them getting the MVP award. While Jokic was named the NBA Finals MVP, Murray won the award for Best Comeback Athlete at the ESPYS at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood for enduring a long recovery from knee surgery and then coming back this past NBA season and helping to lead his team to an NBA Finals win.

Here is the list:

Top 5 Duos in the NBA:

1. Kevin Durant & Devin Booker
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo & Jrue Holiday
3. Nikola Jokic & Jamal Murray
4. LeBron James & Anthony Davis
5. Luka Doncic & Kyrie Irving

Now let’s take a look at some of the reactions:

It is safe to say that the fans had a valid opinion, as Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray played a huge role in the success of the Nuggets this season. Playing as center, Jokic had 24.5 points, 9.8 assists, and 11.8 rebounds per game in the regular season. He fared even better in the postseason, with 30 points, 9.5 assists, and 13.5 rebounds per game. This includes an MVP award, which is revered as a great accomplishment.

Talking about Point guard Jamal Murray, he averaged 20 points, 6.2 assists, and 4 rebounds per match in the regular 2022-23 season. Similar to Jokic, his stats saw a rise in the postseason too, with 26.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds.
