Joshua Kimmich, the Bayern Munich star, is planning to make his decision about whether to stay at the German club or move elsewhere in earnest this January. The 29-year-old, in an exclusive interview recently, revealed that he won’t be waiting until the summer to decide his fate in club football, with his Bayern Munich contract set to run out at the end of the ongoing season.

After making his Bayern Munich debut in the 2015-16 season, Joshua Kimmich has steadily become one of the key players in the club’s recent success at home and in Europe, performing different roles in midfield and in defence admirably. In more than 400 appearances for Bayern Munich, he has scored 42 goals and 108 assists, which led to him winning eight Bundesliga titles and one UEFA Champions League title.

Joshua Kimmich has been linked with a move to Barcelona recently

But, with his current contract at the Bavarians in its final year, Joshua Kimmich is weighing his options in regard to continuing his scintillating journey at his current club or move elsewhere. Earlier in the season, Kimmich was linked with a move to Barcelona, and he had refused to rule out his prospects of moving to the Spanish giants despite playing against them in the UEFA Champions League for Bayern Munich.

When Joshua Kimmich was asked about whether he will play for Bayern next season or start afresh at another club, he remarked, as per ZDF, “I will not wait until summer. I will sit down in winter and then try to see the bigger picture. And make the right decision.” Moreover, the officials at Bayern Munich have spoken recently about their eagerness to start talks about a contract extension with Joshua Kimmich, but nothing had materialised as of yet.
