In match number five of the ongoing U19 Asia Cup 2024 against Bangladesh in Dubai, Nepalese leg spinner Yuvraj Khatri suffered a bizarre injury while celebrating a wicket. The 17-year-old took back-to-back wickets of MD Farid Hasan Faysal and Rizan Hossain respectively in the 27th over as Bangladesh were chasing a target of 142 runs.
As Bangladesh were eight runs short of the winning target, Yuvraj Khatri castled MD Farid Hasan Faysal out for 13(31), and performed a ‘shoe call’ celebration. On the very next delivery, Khatri dismissed Rizan Hossain LBW, and started sprinting on the ground. However, the celebration didn’t end well for the leg spinner as he suddenly started feeling pain in his leg and fell on the ground. After that, he was taken off the field, and couldn’t feature for the remainder remaining game.
