With uncertainty over the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed its decision to not send Team India to Pakistan, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has called for an emergency meeting. The decision of the apex body comes after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reiterated its decision to not host the tournament in hybrid model and are keen to host it entirely in Pakistan.

In the emergency meeting, which is scheduled for November 26, the ICC will aim to settle the differences regarding travelling to the host nation for the marquee tournament. As per a report quoting India Today, the ICC will assume the role of an intermediary and will aim to find a resolution which is of satisfactory value to all the stakeholders involved in the tournament.

Apart from focusing on the primary agenda, the ICC will also aim to reinstate confidence with the BCCI to host the tournament with apt safety concerns. Moreover, if the BCCI stands confident on their decision to not travel to Pakistan, the ICC also aims to convince the PCB to move the tournament in a hybrid model, which will see India play its matches in the UAE.

However, a confirmation on the meeting is still awaited from the ICC and the concerned authorities, as per the tentative schedule, the tournament is set to be played between 19 February till March 9 in Pakistan. The PCB has kept Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore as the three venues for the marquee tournament, which is marking its return after 2017.
