Infamous YouTube streamer iShowSpeed recently went viral again for his comments before Lionel Messi’s free kick during Friday’s game between Inter Miami and Mexican side Cruz Azul. The popular influencer stated that he would convert to being a Messi fan if the legendary forward scored the last minute free kick. In typical Messi fashion, when the pressure was on, he performed. The Argentine scored a stunning free kick to open his account in the United States. This gave Inter Miami a 2-1 victory over their Liga MX rivals in the Leagues Cup.

Speed said that he would become a Messi fan if the World Cup winner scored. The 18-year-old streamer is famous for being a superfan of former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, and was even wearing a Ronaldo Portugal jersey to the Inter Miami match. Speed’s persona as a Ronaldo superfan has seen him dismiss Messi in the past, favoring the former Barcelona player’s Portuguese counterpart. But once Messi scored the last-minute free kick, Speed looked back at the camera in disbelief and then took off his Ronaldo jersey - revealing a Messi shirt underneath.

Speed was blocked by Messi’s PR team
Owing to his Ronaldo fandom and constant dismissal of the World Cup winner in the past, Speed is actually blocked on Instagram by Messi’s team. He isn’t able to follow or message the footballer.
He said, “Oh, yeah. Chat, guess who blocked me on Instagram? See, look. I forgot about that. Guess who blocked me on Instagram, y'all? Nah, guess who blocked me on Instagram? Nah, chat. It's a football player. And look, it is understandable. It's understandable, I'm being honest.”
Speed is a figure that is as popular as he is controversial. The young star was banned on Twitch following comments made towards a female streamer on a talk show, and has also drawn criticism for his antics on stream, particularly when he set off fireworks in his room.
