India wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson who failed to make a mark in the T20I series against West Indies has been advised by former cricketer Aakash Chopra before the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Chopra has advised Samson to take chances before it’s too late. Samson was a part of all three T20Is India have played but didn’t get to bat in the third match. In the two matches, he managed to hit only 19 runs. Now that there are only two matches remaining, Samson has been advised to take his chance or else he will lose his spot to Jitesh Sharma.

Advising the 28-year-old cricketer, Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “Sanju Samson – don’t waste your chance. If you waste your chance, you will remember it later. It is not that if Ishan Kishan goes from the top, Sanju cannot go from below. Both can go and Jitesh Sharma can come.”

When are you going to score runs, Sanju Samson?: Danish Kaneria

The Rajasthan Royals skipper has become a target of many after his performance in the past two matches. Apart from Chopra, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has made a brutal comment on Samson. Kaneria, who identified himself as a fan of Kerala born criticised him and asked him to score runs.

On his YouTube channel, he said, “India rested Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli so that they could give others a chance, as many have complained that a few players haven’t had enough opportunities. Now that India has played them, when are you going to score runs, Sanju Samson?”

The ex-Pakistan cricketer added that Samson got enough chances, but he didn't make the most of them. Kaneria added, “He has had enough chances now. I was among the people who supported him and wanted him to get consistent opportunities. However, he hasn’t made the most of these chances.”
