After an injury-marred year, there have been concerns around Rafael Nadal’s future in professional tennis. However, with the Australian Open Director, Craig Tiley updating on Nadal’s return into the game, the former World No. 1 has once again teased on his return.
However, earlier his video of training went viral, the Spanish star player took to Instagram to further talk on his comeback. “I confirmed yesterday I’ll be back . Stay tuned these days when I decide and announce with my team when and where,” captioned with his image for the tennis court.
Notably, two days ago the 22-time Grand Slam winner aid that he is well and has resumed training. “I’m at a good stage of my life. Until now I didn’t know if I would play tennis again someday, and now I genuinely believe I will. I’m still not ready to say when, but I’m able to train increasingly longer, and the progress is good,” he said.
The 37-year-old Spaniard withdrew from several tournaments after picking up an injury at the Australian Open 2023. In May this year, Nadal announced his withdrawal from the Roland Garros, missing his favourite clay court tournament for the first time in his career. On June 2, he underwent an operation in Barcelona and started his long recovery period.
