Netherlands cricketer Paul van Meekeren came back and hit at Pakistani troll for mocking him on X. A Pakistan fan’s X handle by the name Amir Army shared a video of a heated argument between Haris Rauf and van Meekeren during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which was held in India. The video showed the Dutch player facing Rauf’s unplayable deliveries, which resulted in him getting dismissed. The Pakistan pacer then gave a fiery send-off to van Meekeren, and the two seemed to exchange a few words.
More than six months after the incident, a Pakistani fan uploaded a video on X and tagged the Netherlands player by calling him Rauf’s son. He wrote, “@paulvanmeekren you are son of Haris Rauf.” However, the 31-year-old Dutch didn’t shy away and responded to the troll in a dignified manner.
"I’m not Haris Rauf’s son…" - Paul van Meekeren shuts Pakistan trolls
The Netherlands cricketer didn’t shy away from replying to the trolls and came up with a dignified reply. He said that many people have been asking him the same question while adding that his father’s name is almost similar to his. Not only this, but the cricketer also invited the troll to come up to him in case of queries.
Paul wrote, “Since the last 50 over World Cup I’ve had many people say this… I just wanna clarify that I’m not Haris Raif’s son, my dad is actually, funnily enough, also called Paul (Adriaan) van Meekeren!! I hope this solves any confusion… if not please reach out with your questions”.
