After his sensational innings against Gujarat Titans on April 9, Rinku Singh has become a national star. This 25-year-old batter smashed five consecutive sixes on the final five balls and took the team to victory. After playing a remarkable knock for the team in an epic run-chase, Rinku has become a common name, and right from Bollywood actors to every other cricket fan, everyone is all praise for this young batter. In one of the most epic chases in the history of the tournament, this star embedded his name with golden ink.
From being called ‘Lord’ to ‘Hero’, Rinku Singh has earned a huge fanbase, and is now being called ‘Kolkata’s Dhoni’. While interacting with one of the news channels, Rinku said that there’s no comparison between him and Dhoni. He is doing his job, and both of them are incomparable. On being asked by the interviewer about how he feels being called ‘Kolkata’s Dhoni’, he said, "I’m what I am, cannot be compared to Mahi Bhai".

One of the emerging stars of the tournament, Rinku comes from a humble background, where his father delivers LPG cylinders. Rinku and his brothers used to help their father in door-to-door cylinder deliveries, and on being asked about his Team India ambitions, he said that he’s currently focusing on the IPL and doing well for his franchise.
Rinku was asked if this could be the turning point of his career, to which he replied, "it has been the best innings of his career so far." Rinku started his cricketing career by playing for Uttar Pradesh at the U16, U19 and U23 levels and Central Zone at the U19 level. In 2017, he was bought by the Kings XI Punjab, and in 2018 by the Kolkata Knight Riders.
