India registered a 86-run win over Bangladesh and clinched a 2-0 victory in the series. On Wednesday, October 9, India and Bangladesh were up against each other in the second T20I of the three-match series. India were coming on the back of a seven-wicket win over their rivals The game on Wednesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi saw Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto win the toss and invite the hosts to bat first. 

India, who have had the upper hand in the series thus far, got off to a shaky start as the top three batters departed at 41/3. When the situation was almost out of hand, youngsters Rinku Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy took steering and came up with their respective fifties. Reddy came up with a powerful knock of 74 runs off 34 deliveries and Rinku Singh added 53 runs in 29 deliveries to the overall score. 

Later, Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag came up with 32 and 15 runs, respectively, as India posted 221 runs for nine wickets. Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain was the lead wicket-taker with a total of three scalps. On the other hand, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mustafizur picked two wickets each. 

In return, the visitors couldn’t do much and lost their first three wickets within six overs. Mahmudullah, who is set to call it quits in the format, scored 41 runs off 39 deliveries, with an aim to give the side some stability. However, the Indian bowling unit, consisting of giants like Washinton Sundar, Varun Chakravarthy, Mayank Yadav, and more, proved dangerous. After a memorable show with the bat, Nitish Kumar Reddy went on to pick his maiden wicket as he dismissed Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mahmudullah The visitors fell short of 86 runs and lost the second game as well as the series.
