Indian Formula 2 driver Jehan Daruvala has posted an emotional message on social media after the tragic death of Formula Regional driver Dilano van ‘t Hoff, who died following a crash at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday. Van 't Hoff was involved in a multi-car accident on the Kemmel Straight during the second race of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) at the Belgian circuit.

The 18-year-old was racing for MP Motorsport, the same team that Daruvala is currently a part of. Daruvala shared a picture of Van 't Hoff on Instagram, along with the caption: "The race result is irrelevant today. Absolutely gutted to hear about the tragic passing of Dilano, one of our own at MP. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone at Spa. RIP."

The Dutch driver was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries, according to a statement from the championship organizers. Van 't Hoff won the Spanish F4 title in 2021 and was making his debut in FRECA this year. The motorsport community has expressed its shock and sadness at the loss of van 't Hoff, who was regarded as a promising talent and a friendly personality.

The organizers of the 24 Hours of Spa, which was taking place on the same weekend, cancelled all start-line entertainments and held a minute's silence before the start of the race to honour van 't Hoff's memory.
