Former Pakistan pacer Sohail Khan is hogging a lot of limelight for his recent comment on Virat Kohli and Umran Malik. While Khan recently revealed how he engaged in a verbal spat with the legendary Indian batter, he now has claimed that Umran Malik is ‘no extraordinary’ and there are many bowlers with such pace in Pakistan.
In a fresh development, Irfan Pathan, who is also Umran Malik’s mentor, has jumped into the scene by giving an apt response to Pakistan cricketer. Retired Major, Gaurav Arya, posted Sohail Khan's quote and mentioned that some Pakistani cricketers also said the same about Irfan Pathan but he proved them wrong with his performance in Pakistan.
“Pakistani cricketer says Umran Malik jaise humare domestic cricket mein bhare pade hain. Javed Miandad said the same about Irfan Pathan. Phir Irfan ne Pakistan mein ja kar Pakistan ki team ka band bajaya tha. Yaar tum log thoda kam bola karo (Pakistan cricketer says there are plenty of bowlers like Umran Malik in our domestic circuit. Javed Miandad had said the same about Irfan Pathan. He then went to Pakistan and proved his worth. Pakistanis should speak less),” wrote Major Gaurav Arya.
Irfan Pathan replied to the post and tweeted that Sohail Khan wants to grab attention with such comments, and we must ignore it.
"Major sahab ese statements de kar inhe attention chahiye. Ignore maariye (Major, they want to get attention by making these statements. Please ignore)," Irfan reacted to the post.
Earlier, Sohail Khan also claimed that Virat Kohli’s iconic six to Haris Rauf during T20 World Cup in Australia was not a rare one, instead, it was a very common shot. He also went on to claim that Rohit Sharma is a better cricketer than Virat Kohli.
