The highly anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction, which will decide the fate of 577 shortlisted players, is currently underway at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With just 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 overseas ones, only a select few out of 367 Indian and 210 overseas players will be picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the 2025 season. Glenn Maxwell, the Australian hard-hitting batsman who is the most sought-after player in the mega auction, has been signed by Punjab Kings for INR 4.20 Crore.
Being an all-rounder, Glenn carries impressive statistics in IPL. Besides being a brilliant fielder and off-spinner, Glenn has contributed through this explosive batting. He was recently released by RCB, which he joined in 2021. He was instrumental in establishing the middle order over four seasons, assisting the team to three playoff appearances. With 1,266 runs in 52 matches, he is RCB's fifth-highest run-scorer. The 36-year-old batsman has a strong ability to continue with his destructive batting for the respective team. The RCB picked Glenn for INR 11 Cr in the IPL 2024 season.

Glenn Maxwell made his IPL debut in 2012 and played 134 matches to date with a total score of 2771. His highest run of 95 came in the 2014 IPL season, which he scored while playing for Punjab against SRH. His total average is 24.74, and has hit 232 fours and 160 sixes in his IPL career.
In the bowling section, in 134 matches, he took 37 wickets with an average of 35.22. His last IPL 2024 season with RCB wasn't impressive. In 10 matches, he scored 52 runs which is low as per his batting skills.
