However, Mirza’s team and family urged for privacy in this moment, fans dropped misleading images suggesting that the tennis star is married to Indian pacer Mohammed Shami. These pictures in no time took internet by fire, depicting the wedding ceremony between the two icons of the Indian sports.

However, these images turn to be fake as Sania Mirza married Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik in 2010 and have a son named Izhaan, who was born in 2018. Moreover, the two sporting icons do not share any personal relation and these doctored images are none other than false.
It is to be noted that Mirza had taken a “Khula” from Malik, as confirmed by her father. In the statement from Sania Mirza’s team and family, it clearly stated that Mirza and Malik “have been divorced for a few months now”. “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead,” the statement from Mirza read.
