Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has praised Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher's latest film Ghoomer, calling it "truly inspirational" and "authentic". Tendulkar watched the film with his wife Anjali at a special screening in Mumbai and posed with the lead actress and the director, R Balki.
Ghoomer is a sports drama that revolves around the story of Anina (Saiyami Kher), a promising batswoman who loses her right arm in an accident and reinvents herself as a spin bowler with the help of a disgraced coach, Paddy (Abhishek Bachchan). The film showcases the challenges and triumphs of Anina as she pursues her dream of playing for India.
Tendulkar took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the film and lauded the performances of the actors and the direction of Balki. The Master Blaster praised all the actors and showered heaps of praise on the film. He wrote, "Really enjoyed watching #Ghoomer by #RBalki. It was truly inspirational and should be watched by all youngsters. @juniorbachchan was fantastic as the Coach, @SaiyamiKher looked very authentic, her love for Cricket and her ability to understand the character was amazing. @Imangadbedi was perfect as her constant support and @AzmiShabana ji’s one-liners made my day. Simply loved the film.”
