Former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir hardly ever hesitates from sharing his critical opinion on the developments of the game. Widely known for his apt analysis and slamming players over their poor performances, Indian cricketer reacted sharply when he was asked to comment on one of the comments from retired Pakistan allrounder Shahid Afridi.

While participating in an Indian news channel debate, the two-time world-cup winner was asked about his verbal spat with Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi during their playing days.

"Aap sirf Shahid Afridi ki baat kyu kar rahi hain. Aisi toh meri bahas Shane Watson, Virat Kohli, Mitchell Johnson se bhi hui thi. Aap sirf Afridi pe focus is lie kar rahe ho kyuki usse aap India vs Pakistan rivarly ko spice up kar paoge. (Why are you only talking about my verbal spat with Shahid Afridi. I have interacted in the same manner Virat Kohli, Shane Watson and others as well. You want to improve your TRP by spicing up India vs Pakistan rivalry)," said Gautam Gambhir.

To which Indian news anchor claimed that Afridi often hits out at India's stance on Kashmir and Indian nationalism. The Indian batter was once again at its best as he schooled the Indian news anchor by suggesting her not to pay too much attention to the Pakistani cricketer.

"Shahid Afridi is not so important that you give him so much space in your coverage. His opinions and comments must not be given so much coverage as then no one will even know what he is saying," added Gautam Gambhir.

Notably, India notched up exciting victory over their traditional rivals in the last over of the match. Virat Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 82-runs along with match-winning partnership with Hardik Pandya.

After losing the game to India, Pakistan went on to lose another game against Zimbabwe in the second game of the ICC tournament by just 1-run.
