Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah and batter Shreyas Iyer have been ruled out of the ongoing IPL season due to their respective back injuries. Recently, the MI pacer underwent a successful lower back surgery and has started his rehab management at the NCA while the KKR batter is scheduled to undergo surgery for his lower back next week.
On Saturday, Bumrah's surgery update stated, "Jasprit Bumrah underwent surgery in New Zealand on his lower back, which was successful and he remains pain-free. The fast bowler was advised by the specialist to start his rehab six weeks after the surgery and accordingly, Bumrah has commenced his rehab management at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru from Friday."
On the other hand, the medical update for Iyer read, " Shreyas Iyer is scheduled to undergo surgery for his lower back issue next week. He will remain under the surgeon’s care for two weeks and will return to the NCA after that for rehabilitation."
According to the medical update, Bumrah is likely to join India's Test squad for the WTC 2023 final to be held from June 7 to 11. On the other hand, Iyer's availability will be revealed after his surgery, which is scheduled for the next week.
