Misfits Boxing, the promotion launched by YouTube star KSI and Kalle & Nisse Sauerland, reportedly got its licence back with the Professional Boxing Association (PBA). The brand came under fire due to repeated rule violations for concerns surrounding boxer safety, and potential damage to the sport’s reputation. The PBA took action after a series of controversies related to Misfits’ events. Recently, KSI's October 2023 fight against Tommy Fury, which resulted in Fury clinching the victory, had some scoring errors.

The PBA released a statement and announced Misfits Boxing’s licence suspension. It read, "Misfits Boxing: Due to the clear violations of the PBA’s rules and regulations, bringing boxing into disrepute and in the interest of boxer safety, Misfits Boxing Promoters’ licences have been suspended and disciplinary hearings will follow for such licence holders."

However, later after KSI promoted Misfits Boxing, a report by The Independent suggested that the promotion had handed back its licence. Since 2022, Misfits has staged several boxing events collaborating with Wasserman Boxing. In most of the fights, Olajide KSI Olatunji has headlined the events. In his light fight, Tommy Fury fought in October 2023.

Misfits was slated to host a fight night in Leeds on January 20 where TikTok star Ed Matthews will be headlining the event. However, the association’s suspension cast a cloud of uncertainty over the future of the schedule. But if it has been handed back its licence, then the event will take place on the scheduled date.
