The Dallas Mavericks star, Kyrie Irving, announced the release date of May 11, for the new design of the ANTA KAI 1 sneaker, which has a “Mother’s Day” theme. For the upcoming version of the debut signature sneaker with ANTA, Kyrie Irving took inspiration from his mother, Elizabeth Irving, channelling her wisdom and protective spirit, celebrating mothers everywhere.
As per the report from the Hypebeast, the feathers in the ANTA KAI 1 “Mother’s Day” sneaker have a symbolism of wisdom and protection, while the colour pattern is paying homage to Kyrie Irving’s connection with the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. In addition, the midfoot’s strap has the text “Mother” at the exterior, while at the heel tab, there is “In celebration of” note at the interior to the “Mother” callout.
The release of ANTA KAI 1 “Mother’s Day” is scheduled to take place on May 11, with a price tag $125. The post on the official Instagram account of (@antasportsofficial) about the announcement read, “In celebration of Mother’s everywhere, introducing the Anta Kai 1 “Mother’s Day”. This limited release will be available in the US exclusively at @SneakerRoom in New Jersey on Saturday 5/11”.
Shortly after the announcement of the release date of the ANTA KAI 1 “Mother’s Day” sneaker, Kyrie Irving played for the Dallas Mavericks in the first game of the NBA Western Conference Semi-final tie against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Paycom Center. Despite his 20 points on the night, the Mavericks were no match for the Thunder in the big moments, losing to them 117-95.
The Mavs coach Jason Kidd revealed his conversation with Kai and said, “Just talked to Kai about [the turnovers]. He said it was his fault, but it’s a team game.”
