Social media sensation Logan Paul returned to WWE Smackdown: New Year Revolution and was greeted with a punch in his face as soon as he entered the ring. Paul made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 37 in 2021 and went on to win his first official match alongside Miz at Wrestlemania 38. In the recent edition of the United States Championship tournament, Kevin Owens clinched the victory as well as the opportunity to face Paul at the Royal Rumble 2024.
Before their main show on January 27, both fighters faced each other at the WWE Smackdown. Kevin Owens was a part of the first bout of the night, where he fought against Santos Escobar and emerged as the winner. After the match, Paul congratulated Owens and called himself "the greatest United States Champion in history." Later, Logan entered the ring but Owens ended up punching him and knocked him out before he could even say anything.
Paul later shared a picture of his swollen face and eye on his social media. He captioned the picture “He actually got me”. Owens rose to fame for his ability to give powerful blows. During the intense Survivor Series 2022 WarGames, the fighter unleashed some powerful blows on Roman Reigns. Paul, who won his first WWE title at the United States Championship, will take on the ring for the first time at Royal Rumble 2024.
Talking about their head-to-head records, it will be the first time that the former Universal Champion and The Maverick will go one-on-one. Owens will be the first WWE Superstar to challenge Paul for the United States Championship.
