Bayern Munich goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer is set to make a comeback for his side after staying out of action for more than ten months. Neuer will return to his home side on Saturday, October 28, against Darmstadt, after being out for almost a year with a broken leg. Team coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed the same on Friday, October 27.

The 37-year-old last played at the World Cup in Qatar on December 1, last year, as they were eliminated from the prestigious tournament in the group stage. In the following week, he suffered a leg injury while he was on vacation and broke his left leg. Team coach Tuchel shared an update about Neuer and said that he will play against Darmstadt "if nothing happens in training.”

Speaking at the press conference, Tuchel said, “As long as nothing happens in training, he will play tomorrow. He is delighted, we are delighted, and others will probably be delighted too.” He added, “I am sure that he will get very quickly into the rhythm where he is at his best.”

After Neuer’s injury, the club recruited Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer from Borussia Moenchengladbach replacing him. However, he left for Inter Milan in the close season. Though the team was eagerly awaiting the skipper's return, the coach earlier said that they don’t want to rush his rehabilitation.
