Tim Schultz, a professional MMA fighter, has recently gotten a severe staph infection, which puts him at potential risk of losing his leg. The 28-year-old, who fights out of Queensland in Australia, has a 4-1 record inside the octagon.

On May 29, the Aussie shared details of the horrific injury on his Instagram account. Tim Schultz mentioned that he had two surgeries on his left leg, both of which he woke up halfway through to end up experiencing intense pain like never before. He also asked people to share his post, donate, spread the word, or do anything to save his life.

Shortly afterwards, Matt Lee-Manwar, who is alongside the Australian in Thailand, posted a health update on the Instagram account of the combat sports athlete, on behalf of him. He stated that the staph infection in the lower left leg of Tim Schultz is clearing, but moving upwards toward his knee, while revealing that the infection is not currently in his bone. Lee-Manwar also asked everyone for immediate assistance towards his medical bills and flight charges.

A few hours later, he took to Schultz’s Instagram account once again, to update that Tim is approved by his treating doctor to fly out to Australia from Thailand, only if he has a nurse or paramedic along with him.

The post read, “Tim has been approved by his treating doctor to fly back to Australia if he has a nurse or paramedic with him. Peter Allen has volunteered his time to fly over and retrieve Tim. Thanks for Will Henry and his parents for organising and funding Peter's airfares. It looks like Tim has raised just enough or almost enough to pay for his medical bills in Thailand. Will keep you updated on this. If Tim's condition remains stable, he will be back in Australia by Wednesday. Thank you everyone!!!”

Moreover, Casey O’Neill, the friend of Tim Schultz, tweeted out a link for donation to help the fellow Australian in saving his life. Her tweet read, “I have a friend in Thailand who got a staph infection through to his bone, it’s looking likely he will lose his leg and never be able to fight again. Please considering donating if you have the means. Thank you”
