India fast bowler Mohammad Shami allegedly liked a post on social media that criticised Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and labelled him ‘Chapri’. Shami has been out of IPL 2024 and the forthcoming T20I World Cup due to his heel surgery. Shami took to social media to inform fans about the successful surgery and revealed that he got stitches removed from his heels.

Shami posted on X, "Hello everyone! I wanted to provide an update on my recovery progress. It has been 15 days since my surgery, and I recently had my stitches removed. I am thankful for the advancements I have achieved and looking forward to the next stage of my healing journey." In the comment section, one of his fans, with username @ctrl_memes_ posted a comment praising the Gujarat Titans pacer.

He praised Shami by mentioning that he played well in the ODI World Cup 2023 despite having issues, and shone amongst others by scalping 24 wickets from 7 matches at an average of 10.71. However, the fan also trolled Hardik Pandya by calling him ‘chapri’ as he wrote, "Shami bhai gave his 100 per cent even when he was in pain during the world cup, then there is one chapri kalu who shown fake injury to keep himself available for IPL.” The GT pacer appeared to like the comment.

The GT star recently announced that he is back in India after the successful completion of the surgery. Shami has been out of action since the completion of the ODI World Cup and missed India's tour of South Africa as well as the five-match series against England. Now with him being ruled out of the IPL 2024, GT will have to look for a suitable replacement.
