The highly anticipated five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test series is set to commence on Friday, November 22, with the first Test match at the Optus Stadium in Perth. India and Australia have produced some of the greatest bowlers in the history of Test cricket, who have competed against each other on several occasions during their careers, getting the best of their respective opponents as well.

Some of the top bowlers who have been a part of the BGT over the years and decades are Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie, Nathan Lyon, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and more. In the aforementioned list, Anil Kumble, the former Indian captain and head coach, is in first place with a whopping 10 five-wicket hauls in 38 innings, and he has picked up 111 wickets in just 20 Tests against Australia. Off spinner Nathan Lyon, who is currently going strong for the Aussies, has an exceptional record against Indian batters both home and away, taking 116 wickets in 26 Tests, including nine five-wicket hauls.

The Indian spin bowling duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have caused a lot of strife for Australia in home and away conditions, sharing 199 wickets between them in the BGT Test series. Ashwin (114 wickets in 22 Tests) and Jadeja (85 wickets in 16 Tests) will be hoping to make a telling impact in the upcoming five-match Test series down under, to secure India their five-straight series win over Australia in the longest format of the game.
