MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings, played the final home match in the league stage of the IPL 2023 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 14. Fast forward to today, a picture has gone viral on social media in which a fan was seen gifting MSD a miniature of Chepauk Stadium as a gift for enthralling CSK supporters at home right throughout the current season.
According to a tweet posted by a user on the platform, MS Dhoni was quoted as saying, “I have never received such a gift like this in my life.” The surprise and awe in Dhoni’s reaction tells everyone that he was very pleased with the gift from his fan.
As a batter, MS Dhoni has scored just 98 runs in 13 matches in the league for CSK, but at a mind-blowing strike-rate of 196.00. Behind the stumps, he has taken six catches and inflicted two stumpings so far this season.
Meanwhile, MSD, the four-time IPL winning captain for CSK, has led the franchise to only four wins out of seven matches played at the fortress Chepauk in the 2023 IPL season. Chennai has also won three out of six matches away from home in this year’s tournament.
Looking ahead, in their final league stage match of this year’s IPL, Chennai Super Kings will go head-to-head against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. A win in this fixture will seal the playoffs spot for CSK in yet another Indian Premier League season under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
