Mahendra Singh Dhoni - A name which has ruled the world of cricket in last few years! When skippers across the globe struggle to get a solitary ICC trophy in their cabinet, the former Indian captain won T20 World Cup (2007), ODI World Cup (2011) and Champions Trophy (2013). The success that Men in Blue enjoyed during the leadership was MSD was second to none.
However, the era had to end someday! But no one would have expected the manner in which it will all conclude. Out of nowhere, on an evening of India's 73rd Independence Day, there came an Instagram post and that was it - MSD had hung up his boots from international cricket.

He shared a video collage of all his memories with song 'Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon' and that was the end of a glittering and incredibly successful career. "Thanks... Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired," the caption of the post read.
In no time, the comment section was flooded with fans expressing their shock and disbelief but as they came to terms with reality, the congratulatory and good wishes followed afterwards.
While MSD has continued to play in IPL, even leading CSK to a brilliant title last year, the Indian cricket fans miss his presence in Team India. The national side, without him, have stumbled in ICC tournaments which is now making everyone realize what Dhoni did during his career, was nothing short of genius.
Fast forward to 1.5 years after his retirement post, the video has garnered close to 5 crore views, making it probably one of the most viewed posts on Instagram in the country. Interestingly, people still continue to comment on Thala's post with heart emojis, sad emojis, crying emojis, miss you messages etc. in order to express their love for the man who literally changed the history of cricket in the country, bringing so much glory, respect and helping India become a formidable force in the sport.
Much to the delight of everyone, MS Dhoni will be seen once again playing for CSK in IPL 2022, where he will captain the side with an aim to defend the title Yellow Army won in UAE.
