Mumbai Indian's spinner Kumar Kartikeya Singh was all smiles on meeting his family after nine years and three months. The left-arm spinner expressed his joy to meet his family by uploading a picture alongside his mother on social media on Wednesday, August 3.
The 24-year-old cricketer made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut on April 30 at the DY Patil Sports Academy against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as he replaced injured Mohd Arshad Khan in the Mumbai Indians' squad. Kumar Kartikeya, who wanted to achieve something before returning to home, has finally met his family after more than nine years of wait.
Kumar Kartikeya took to his official Twitter handle to post a picture with his mother and captioned, "Met my family and mumma ❤️ after 9 years 3 months . Unable to express my feelings."
After the IPL 2022, Kumar Kartikeya said, "I haven't been home for 9 years. I'd decided to return home only when I achieve something in life. My mom and dad called me frequently, but I was committed. Now, finally, I'll return home after the IPL."
Kumar Kartikeya represents Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket and played nine first-class matches taking 35 wickets while he has picked nine wickets in eight domestic T20 matches. He was also part of the Madhya Pradesh side that won the Ranji Trophy final against the 41-time champions Mumbai at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, earlier this year.
