Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is set to miss the next few weeks due to a hamstring injury he suffered during their recent game against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Kante went to the ground with a problem in the 2-2 draw against the Spurs before being subbed out.
Coach Thomas Tuchel was not optimistic about the Former Premier League winner’s availability in the coming days. “We’re talking about weeks, which is not good news. We’re disappointed and sad because N’Golo was super fit,” Tuchel said before Sunday’s match at Ellan Road against Leeds United.

Tuchel added that Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic and Mateo Kovacic are also missing the Leeds fixture due to injury concerns. Tuchel said, “Armando is out for some days. He cannot come with us to Leeds. Mateo Kovacic is still out with knee problems. Christian Pulisic had Achilles problems but trained today. Let’s see.”
Chelsea completed the signing of Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei from Inter Milan on a six-year deal earlier on Friday, reports say that they paid an initial 12.6 million pounds ($14.91 million) for the 19-year-old. Tuchel talked about how Casadei is getting used to the new environment he is in and would get chances when he is all settled in.
“I met him yesterday here in the building. We will give him time now to learn the language, to learn what Chelsea is all about, to understand the culture, how we live here, and how we train here on a daily basis. Once he’s settled in we will give him opportunities to train with us and show his qualities. We will assess him, have a clearer picture of him and then we will see.”
Further talking about the transfer market, Tuchel was asked if he was frustrated with the lack of new signings over the past 10 days. The German manager replied, “I’m the opposite of frustrated. I’m very happy and very confident after last week’s performance. We work together about the reinforcements but it’s never easy. You can’t just wish for something, and it will happen.”
