Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma said that the toss will not play a crucial role in their ODI World Cup 2023 clash against Pakistan on October 14, Saturday. India are set to lock horns with Pakistan in a high-octane clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday. Notably, this will be for the first time in seven years that Pakistan will lock horns with the 1983 and 2011 champions on the Indian soil.

On the eve of the anticipated clash, the Indian skipper addressed the press and said that the toss won't be a critical factor in their fixture against their neighbouring rivals. Sharma told media, "Toss will not play a massive factor against Pakistan."

The statement of the host captain has probably come from the fact that the Men in Blue have been performing extremely well off-late. Apart from that, the home-ground factor might also be a factor, which is why the Indian team is riding high on confidence.

Apart from that, the Indian skipper also addressed the playing XI for the upcoming match and said that the two-time world champions might make one or two changes in the squad. Sharma said, "We might make 1-2 changes in playing 11 against Pakistan."

In both the matches that Sharma and Co. have played, they have chased the scores posted by their rivals and registered consecutive wins in the tournament so far. Notably, Pakistan are coming on the back of two consecutive wins against Netherlands and Sri Lanka in the ODI World Cup 2023.
