The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is well poised with some last-ball finishes as well as some biggest run fest in the tournament. In the 12th match of the 2024 edition, it will be Faf du Plessis-led RCB taking on Shreyas Iyer’s KKR at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.

Ahead of this crucial clash, it was former KKR captain and current mentor Gautam Gambhir, who shared his love to defeat RCB in the showpiece tournament. Speaking in a video shared by Star Sports, Gambhir revealed that he always wanted to dominate over RCB and still opines the same. “One team I wanted to beat every time, even in my dreams, was Bangalore. The second most high-profile team, flamboyant owner, and with the squad, with Gayle, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers. They have not won anything, still thought they have won everything and that attitude I can’t take that,” he said on Star Sports.

He further added that KKR has the three best wins against RCB in IPL so far. “The three best wins that KKR have ever had was against RCB. The first time - the first game of the IPL, RCB 49 all out, RCB 6 overs 100 - probably the only time in IPL where 100 runs were scored off the first 6 overs,” he added.

Speaking of KKR’s IPL 2024 campaign, the Shreyas Iyer-led side won their opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens by four runs. With a four-run win, they are now placed at fourth place in the points table.
