Brooklyn Nets stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant combined for 46 points in Brooklyn-based NBA franchise's last preseason game against Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. However, Nets small forward Ben Simmons has found himself in the middle of the criticism by fans after he was fouled out in just 13 minutes of his appearance.

Brooklyn Nets ended the NBA preseason with a 102-112 victory over Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center to register two wins and two losses in their campaign. Point guard Kyrie Irving scored 26 points and four assists while forward Kevin Durant scored 20 points and made six assists to help Nets secure a win over Wolves.

After having an impressive game against Milwaukee Bucks by restricting Giannis Antetokounmpo on 25% field goals made, Simmons was expected to continue his top form against the Wolves but failed to deliver as he registered his sixth individual foul of the game with over 10 minutes left in the third quarter.

Simmons was spotted laughing in disbelief after being fouled out and said, "Obviously, I probably wouldn't be laughing if it was the regular season but it's the preseason."

Twitter reacts on Ben Simmons fouling out against Timberwolves

Simmons finished the game with two points, six assists and two rebounds after playing 13 minutes and the fans took to Twitter to troll the Nets star forward.

After the game, Simmons' teammate Kyrie Irving joked on the star forward fouling out quickly. Irving said, " Yeah, that was the first time. But it's preseason."

Kyrie also considered some foul decisions were harsh against his teammate and said, "He knows he was not necessarily as locked in as he could have been, I think some of the calls could have gone either way. But it's a learning experience for him and us as a team. And we were just joking about it throughout the game, but obviously we wanted him to get some minutes tonight so we could really grow."
