After Babar Azam was rested from the Pakistan cricket team for the second and third Test of the ongoing series against England, his teammate Fakhar Zaman spoke about how the selectors shouldn’t have left him out, comparing his situation with Indian stalwart Virat Kohli. However, Fakhar Zaman’s reaction on PCB resting Babar Azam has got him in hot waters despite several other cricketers also opening about this decision of PCB.

Notably, the Pakistan selection committee took a major decision to leave out three of their top cricketers from the Test squad for the final two matches of the series against England. Apart from Babar Azam, the fast-bowling duo of Shaheen Afridi and Naseen Shah were also removed from the team after they lost the first Test in Multan by an inning and 47 runs.

Fakhar Zaman’s latest post on Babar Azam’s omission lands him in trouble

It is to be seen that Pakistan’s decision to axe Babar Azam, who has been one of the best players of the present generation, did not rest well among the cricketing minds, one of them being Fakhar Zaman. The Pakistan batter took to social media to express his disappointment on PCB’s bold decision, along with drawing comparison with Virat Kohli’s form.

As reported by Cricbuzz, these comments by Zaman has drawn him flak from the board, which has now issued a show-cause notice to the Pakistan batter. Fakhar Zaman, who is a contracted player, thus needs to respond by October 21 after he was found guilty of violating the players’ code of conduct by targeting the board policies and the selection.

Moreover, it has to be seen that Fakhar Zaman’s public criticism of the PCB comes at a tense time, especially since he had previously voiced frustration about ill-treatment by PCB officials over No-Objection Certificate (NOC) waivers for T20 leagues.

Speaking of the Men in Green, the Shan Masood-led side is taking on England in the second Test of the three-match series at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan. Earlier in the day, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. At the time of writing, the hosts had lost two wickets with Saim Ayub (23) and Kamran Ghulam (11) in the middle and the scoreboard reading 44/2 after 16 overs.
