The ODI World Cup 2023 has reached its penultimate stage with India already sealing their finals berth and on Thursday, November 16, we will see the other team which will take on the mighty Indians in the grand finale. The title clash for the coveted trophy is all set to be staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19.
While the Men in Blue have already landed in Ahmedabad, reports of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the finale has also emerged. As reported by Dainik Jagran, the Indian PM will be in attendance to support the host nation at the flagship tournament.
After India’s 70-run win over New Zealand, taking the revenge of the 2019 semifinals, PM Modi took to X to congratulate the Men in Blue. “Congratulations to Team India! India puts up a superlative performance and enters the Finals in remarkable style. Fantastic batting and good bowling sealed the match for our team. Best wishes for the Finals!”, he wrote.
The political leader of the nation also hailed the two, star performers of the side, Virat Kohli, for his record-breaking 50th ODI ton and Mohammed Shami for his seven-wicket haul.
“Today’s Semi Final has been even more special thanks to stellar individual performances too. The bowling by @MdShami11 in this game and also through the World Cup will be cherished by cricket lovers for generations to come,” he said.
According to several reports, the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran is also likely to perform at the ODI World Cup 2023 grand finale. The videos of the IAF’s aerobatics demonstration team have been doing rounds on social media.
