I ndian cricketer, Prithvi Shaw is racing against time to feature in the Indian colours. However, he has been brilliant on the field for the county club Northamptons hire. Shaw, who started the English club for the One Day Cup, has now been ruled out of the ongoing domestic tournament with a knee injury.

 

The young Indian batter, who scored a double century and a century in his four innings with the Northamptonshire is all set to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. The club confirmed in a tweet which read, “Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the remainder of his Steelbacks stint.”

 

The tweet further added, “Prithvi injured his knee while fielding in the fixture against Durham and subsequent scan results received this morning have revealed the injury is worse than initially expected.”

 

It is to be further added that Shaw is the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 429 runs across four innings. The Nottinghamshire head coach also heaped praise on Shaw while his stint at the club comes to an end. “In his short stint Prithvi has made a huge impact on us as a club. It’s a huge shame he won’t be with us for the remainder of this comp,” John Sadler.

 

The 23-year-old has now moved under the guidance of BCCI and is said to see a specialist in London on Friday.
