A lookalike of batting star Virat Kohli nearly caused a riot in Ayodhya as the Indian international couldn't attend the historic Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha. The former Indian captain received an invitation to the grand event symbolising the return of Lord Ram after 500 years to his home of Ayodhya.
But the former India captain skipped the big event due to "personal reasons." Yet countless Kohli fans were eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of their favourite cricketer. Hence when a lookalike of the star batter emerged on the streets of Ayodhya, the supporters went crazy.
In a now-viral video, the Virat Kohli duplicate was spotted wearing the Indian cricket team jersey and sunglasses. Immediately, the locals mobbed the doppelganger and surrounded him for pictures. After clicking a few photographs, the Kohli lookalike tried avoiding the crowd, which eventually failed.

Amidst Kohli's absence from the Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced that the star batter will miss the first two Tests against England citing personal issues. The BCCI statement said, "Mr. Virat Kohli has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England, citing personal reasons."
