Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo has recently revealed the stance of the club to sign Manchester United loanee Antony. THe Brazilian right winger has been quite important for Real Betis since joining the La Liga club on loan from Manchester United during the January transfer, and it is no surprise that negotiations are already underway to keep him for at least another season. The Brazilian joined the Green and Whites on loan from Manchester United and has been in great form for the La Liga club.

Antony has made a strong impact at Sevilla, with four goals and four assists in just 12 appearances. His influence has been key to the team’s impressive run of form, which includes six consecutive La Liga victories. As Real Betis gears up for an exciting clash against Barcelona on Saturday night, all eyes will be on Antony, who is expected to start once again.

"It is a source of satisfaction to sign Antony for Real Betis," says Many Fajardo

Speaking to the media ahead of Betis' 1-1 draw at Barcelona on Saturday, director Manu Fajardo highlighted his delight in bringing Antony in during the winter transfer window. He also acknowledged that there is a strong desire to keep the winger with the club beyond the end of the season.

“It is a source of satisfaction on a personal level (to have brought Antony to Betis), but it is the result of teamwork. Although I am responsible for sporting management, there are many people involved in this signing. It’s still early, but we will try in different ways to do everything possible to continue enjoying Antony," he said.

Real Betis aims to win the UEFA Conference League

Real Betis have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround over the past few months, putting themselves in a strong position to secure Champions League qualification for the 2025–26 season. According to Fajardo, the club is also eyeing silverware this year as they set their sights on winning the UEFA Conference League.

“We are one of the few Spanish teams that are in two competitions, on the verge of a quarter-final, and for us it means a lot to be able to be in the semi-finals of a European competition.”
