Sourav Ganguly, the Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals, gave a major fitness update on Rishabh Pant, stating that he is in good shape and he will play for the franchise in the IPL 2024, with reports suggesting that he is expected to lead them next season. On Thursday, November 9, the 26-year-old joined the training camp of Delhi Capitals in Kolkata, but he is not going to practise with the rest of his teammates.

The Delhi Capitals camp to train a few players for the IPL 2024 has begun at the Jadavpur University Second Campus Cricket Association of Bengal Ground in the Salt Lake area, Kolkata. As per the interview of Sourav Ganguly with India Today, Rishabh Pant arrived in the City of Joy on Thursday, November 9, and he will stay here until November 11.

The former Indian captain said, “Rishabh Pant is in good shape. He will play from next season. He will not practise now. He is here till 11th November. We had a discussion about the team with Pant as he is the captain of the team, considering the upcoming auctions”.

More than 10 months removed from an unfortunate car accident, which required multiple surgeries to repair his multiple injuries, Rishabh Pant was spotted walking comfortably around the ground in Kolkata without any knee brace. As per Sports Tak, Rishabh Pant is expected to lead Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2024, if his recovery keeps on going in the right direction. 

Also, in the aftermath of the recent events, speculation is running rampant about the Roorkee-born cricketer making his return to international cricket for India against England for the five-match Test series at home next January.
