The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, April 30 announced 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. The marquee event is scheduled to be played from June 1 to 29 in the United States of America (USA) and West Indies.
Although Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were among the obvious picks for the ICC event, with the latter continuing to lead the national side. But according to latest reports citing SportsTak, it could be the last World Cup for both these players in the shortest format.
Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have played 151 and 117 T20I matches, scoring 3974 and 4037 runs respectively. The stalwarts of the game featured in the T20 World Cup 2022 and since then, both have played only one T20I series, which was against Afghanistan earlier this year.

The BCCI announced India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. While Rohit Sharma will take the helm, Hardik Pandya will shoulder the responsibility as his deputy. While Yashasvi Jaiswal has been given a nod ahead of Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant are the two wicketkeeper-batter choices ahead of KL Rahul.
