The date of the next undisputed WWE Universal title match of Roman Reigns has been confirmed. There were reports earlier of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia hosting a pay-per-view event on May 27, known as ‘Night of Champions’. The announcement about the star-studded event was made by the officials of WWE. Now that the fans are eagerly waiting for the night, another ‘pay-per-view’ event, Backlash, is to take place ahead of this mega event on May 6, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Sources have revealed that The Tribal Chief won’t participate in Backlash, and instead, he will wait till 27th, and be a part of the Night of Champions. In the recent WrestleMania, which turned out to be a huge success, where Roman Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Cody Rhodes, continuing his reign.
Notably, he was last featured in a title match during Wrestlemania 39, where he defeated Cody Rhodes at the SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California, and defended his title. Next, he is all set to defend the title in the Ring of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27. However, there is no update about his opponent for the fight. Though there have been rumours of Sami Zayn being Reigns’ next opponent.
The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns won the WWE Universal title in 2020, after defeating Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowmann “The Fiend” on August 30, 2020. Notably, Roman Reigns has achieved another milestone recently as he completed 1000 runs as champion on March 27, 2023.
