On their way to sealing a 3-0 lead in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves star, Anthony Edwards, rubbed salt into the wounds of the Phoenix Suns at the Footprint Center, mocking them with the iconic “DX Chop” aka “S*** It” celebration. In game three, Anthony Edwards scored a game-high 36 points, including nine rebounds and five assists, setting up the third straight win for the Timberwolves against the Suns.
In the first half of game three, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns were going neck-and-neck for the majority of the time, but the visitors managed to take a 54-51 lead at the halfway break. The third quarter saw the game move decisively in favor of the Timberwolves before they kept the Suns under check in the fourth and final quarter to register a 126-109 win.
When the win was all but sealed for the Minnesota Timberwolves with 2:54 remaining on the clock, Anthony Edwards had fun at the expense of the Phoenix Suns fans at the Footprint Center. He took a page from the book of the WWE legends Triple H and Shawn Michaels from their heyday in the 1990s, telling the home fans to “S*** It” with the “DX Chop” celebration.
I just want to kill everything in front of me: Anthony Edwards
Following the big victory, when Scott Van Pelt of ESPN asked Anthony Edwards about his mentality and its evolution, the Minnesota Timberwolves guard said, “I just want to kill everything in front of me, man. That's the main thing.” Notably, Edwards had a great regular season with the Timberwolves before arriving to the playoffs, averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 79 games.
