While one surprise inclusion was that of Ravichandran Ashwin, who is set to make a return after January 2022, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Washington Sundar were also named in the side, despite being named in the Asian Games squad. However, one notable name which missed out a place was Sanju Samson. The wicketkeeper-batter, who was named as the 18 th man in the Asia Cup squad, was dropped out of picture.
However, this omission did not rest well with the fans as several of them took to Twitter to lash out at the BCCI Selection Committee and the management. Not only this, the wicketkeeper-batter also took to social media to share a cryptic post after the squad announcement. The post included nothing, just a smiling emoji, which is now doing rounds on social media.
The Indian cricketer however moments later also shared a post on Instagram with a caption which read, “It is what it is!! I choose to keep moving forward,” with a smiling emoji and Indian flag.
