WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford and unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr have reportedly agreed to square off for the undisputed welterweight championship at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The most anticipated match between Crawford and Spence since the mega fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in 2015 will reportedly take place on July 29, all thanks to the negotiations between PBC's Al Haymon, who advises Spence, and Crawford's advisor CAA's Ish Hinson.

According to a report by ESPN, Crawford, and Spence will each earn eight figures guaranteed for the Showtime pay-per-view event, and the loser has a 30-day window following the fight, and within it, he can trigger a rematch. Sources added that it is a two-fight contract for Crawford with PBC. Both the fighters are anticipated to move to 154 pounds post the rematch between them, which must take place before 2023 ends.

Not only this but if they split the two fights, a trilogy fight is most likely to take place. The one who prevails is most likely to push for the undisputed junior middleweight championship, which is currently held by Jermell Charlo. As both the fighters are ready to face off in one of the biggest fights of the sport, it will decide who is ultimately the best at 147 pounds.

Notably, Crawford is ESPN’s number 1 pound-for-pound boxer, whereas Spence occupies three spots behind him, at number 4. Spence fought his last bout in April 2022, a 10th-round TKO victory over Yordenis Ugas, which led him to win his third welterweight title, which was his first fight since his 2021 surgery.
