The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) locked horns with five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium earlier on Sunday, April 7. The Delhi-based team, who have registered their solitary win in the IPL 2024 from five games, missed the services of Mitchell Marsh, Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav.

After their 29-runs loss, DC Assistant Coach, Praveen Amre spoke on the availability of these key player in their side as they hope for a win when they next face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 12. Marsh, who missed DC’s first match was left out after an injury concern.

“That’s the biggest concern. He has gone for a scan on his injured hamstring. Once the reports are evaluated by Patrick (Farhart, the physio), we will know whether and when will he be available for us,” Amre said after DC’s 29-run defeat against MI on Sunday.

However, Amre added that Mukesh Kumar will be available for their next match, he also gave an update on Kuldeep Yadav’s injury. The Indian spinner, who sustained a groin injury and missed his third game for DC, is likely to return in their next match. “On course to recovery. Will hopefully be fit after a game, at the most two,” Praveen Amre said.

The Rishabh Pant-led DC displaced MI in the points table after their 29-run loss. From five matches so far in the tournament, the DC have registered only one win and are now reeling at the bottom of the points table.
