While KL smashed his first boundary of the day in the 30th over off Shaheen Shah Afridi, he then went all bonkers hitting Iftikhar Ahmed for a six followed by a four in the next over. This power-hitting from the wicketkeeper-batter saw him earn praises from all over, including from former player Sanjay Manjrekar.
The former Indian cricketer, who is one of the members of the commentary panel for Star Sports, hailed KL’s performance in the ongoing match, calling it the “best” he has seen so far.
Talking about the match, Babar Azam earlier won the toss and invited India to bat first. The opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a solid start upfront to the Men in Blue. However, the two batters departed in successive overs, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul steadied the innings. Later, with rain coming into play, the match was called off for the day and saw India resume their innings at 147/2 on the reserve day.
