The IPL 2024 clash between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians got off to an entertaining start with MI bowlers making life difficult for KKR batters. But Kolkata eventually pulled through to post a competitive total of 157 in 16 overs despite some incredible performances from Piyush Chawla and Jasprit Bumrah.
But chasing this total, MI had a great start and then threw it away by losing quick wickets against Kolkata's spinners. This collapse added to another massive disappointment to an already dismal season as they became the first team to be knocked out of the IPL 2024 playoffs race.
