The 51-year-old as k ed a plethora of questions to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh cricket boards, wanting to know about the pressure on them to agree on this “unreasonable demand,” without getting a reserve day for their own matches. He wondered why these two ACC members have shown “so much generosity,” to let Pakistan vs India match happen on reserve day, while potentially costing themselves the chance to qualify through to the Asia Cup 2023 final.

While taking to his official Twitter account, Venkatesh Prasad also asked the Sri Lanka and Bangladesh cricket boards the true intent and reason behind agreeing to the reserve day in the Indo-Pak match. The excerpts of his tweet read, “Can you please explain truly the intent and reason to do so?”

Earlier, on September 8, Friday, the former bowling coach of the Indian cricket team also minced no words in his criticism of ACC, calling their actions of awarding the reserve day to Pakistan vs India contest in the Asia Cup 2023 as “absolute shamelessness.” He went on to state that the organisers have done no favours to the tournament by creating different rules for different teams on the fly, while hoping that their plans go in vain at the same time.

His tweet about ACC read, “If true this is absolute shamelessness this. The organisers have made a mockery and it is unethical to have a tournament with rules being different for the other two teams. In the name of justice, will only be fair if it is abandoned the first day, may it rain harder on the second day and these malicious plans not succeed.”
