The Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has strongly condemned and voiced his support for Barcelona players following the racial abuse incident from Madrid fans during  El Clasico . When Catalans won 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, several Real Madrid supporters hurled racist taunts at Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ansu Fati. In addition to an inquiry into the incident, Real Madrid, La Liga, and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have also released comments denouncing the act.

Now, Vinicius Jr voiced his displeasure with the way Lamine Yamal, Ansu Fati, and Raphinha were treated in a strong statement that has been circulating on social media. Real Madrid forward on his X profile wrote, “It’s regrettable what happened yesterday at the Bernabeu with racist insults. There is no place for these criminals in our society. All my support to Lamine, Ansu and Raphinha.". “I know that Madrid and the police will do things to identify and punish the guilty!!” he added.

Deeply regrettable: Real Madrid after El Clasico

Lamine Yamal had a great match and ended up making history as the youngest player to score in an El Clasico, but the celebration was tainted with racial abuse. His goal was Barcelona's third of the night, and he celebrated like Vinicius Jr., which regrettably corresponded with the ugly comments.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has also released their strong objection towards racial abuse, describing it as "deeply regrettable". "Real Madrid unequivocally denounces any form of racism, xenophobia, or violence in football and sports as a whole. We are dismayed by the abhorrent taunts voiced by a minority of fans in one corner of the stadium last night. An investigation is already underway to identify these offenders so appropriate disciplinary and legal actions can be enforced," the statement from Madrid read.

Vinicius Jr no stranger to racial abuse in football world

Since joining Spanish football in 2018,  Vinicius has experienced racist taunts . After experiencing racist situations in La Liga multiple times, the Brazilian winger has emerged as a key player in the battle against racism in football. Recently, Spain police arrested four suspects over the hate campaign against Vinicius Jr. The campaign was to target the Brazilian player by Atletico Madrid fans to abuse him, and asking them to wear black face masks to go unnoticed.
