Indian batting great Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood star, Anushka Sharma have been blessed with a baby. Kohli has been away from the Indian cricket team, which is playing England in a five-match Test series. The Men in Blue are currently leading the series 2-1 after registering a historic win in Rajkot with a massive margin of 434 runs.
Ahead of this five-match series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India released a statement confirming Kohli's absence on January 22. Then after the first two Tests, BCCI revealed that the 35-year-old would be out for the remainder of the series after which reports about Kohli possibly returning for the final Test surface.
But putting to bed the countless reports and speculation about his absence, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma took to social media to confirm the birth of their second child, a baby boy named Akaay. The statement further requested their privacy during this time.
The statement said, "With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love. we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay / अकाय & Vamika's little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time. Love & Gratitude."
