Lucknow Super Giants veteran Amit Mishra reminded everyone why he is one best bowlers in IPL history as he dismissed Rajasthan Royals' Riyan Parag in his first match of the 2024 season. Playing at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, the Super Giants posted a competitive total of 197 on the back of half-centuries from captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda.
Defending this total, Lucknow struck early by dismissing RR's opening pair at a score of 60. Then in search of the next breakthrough, the Super Giants brought out Mishra as an impact player. Playing in his first game of IPL 2024, the veteran leggie was carved for a maximum over wide of long-on before the 41-year-old produced a beauty.

Tossing up a loopy delivery wide outside off stump Parag attempted to hit over cover but could only find Ayush Badoni. Celebrating this dismissal, Mishra was over the moon as he pointed at the name on the back of his jersey. After the wicket, Yuzvendra Chahal had a viral reaction as the camera panned towards the RR dressing delivery.

Coming back to the first innings, Deepak Hooda provided the perfect support to Kl Rahul by scoring 50 in 31 balls with seven fours. Talking about this performance, Hooda said, "I just bettered what I was doing the last year, took my domestic form into the IPL. The wicket demanded it (on his off-side shots), one side was longer, one side was short. I never thought that it would be my day."
"I think this is a par score, the wicket is good, and we'll have to use the longer side and use our variations., You can't slog blindly, have to be smart and it's a challenge for the bowlers as well. The confidence is high and we're hoping for the best."
